I'm always on the hunt for the perfect casual, cozy corner bar and restaurant. The sort that has a long wooden bar that locals and visitors can sit around and eat dinner at the bar after a cocktail or two. A place with great drinks and food but not too pretentious or expensive that you can't go there every week. It should have the coziness of a Dutch "brown cafe," ideally with a TV, in some convenient but unobtrusive location, tuned into the Giants game. I visited Heritage for the first time and, wow, it checked all the boxes - including a functioning fireplace, which is a gamechanger on those foggy Richmond evenings. We were initially just going to duck in and sit at the long bar near the front to get a Friday night cocktail and figure out where on Clement Street to eat. But the cocktails were excellent and the food that came out looked fantastic so we just stayed and ate at the bar. The burger was killer - cooked and seasoned so perfectly the bun and accompaniments were a moot point. The fries were great. We got the pan roasted salmon with soy glazed eggplant, baby carrots, avocado, cucumber chili aioli, sweet soy & grass scented sushi rice and it was killer.

What a lovely find. Sweet friendly service by Roxy (thank you!), dog friendly, cozy with a beautiful fireplace, and the food is delicious! We ordered the chicken wings to start, pork chop and carbonara as mains. Pasta in the pork chop was perfectly Al dente, the pork itself was really well cooked with a crispy fatty crust, and the basil pesto + tomato sauce was 10/10. Thanks for a lovely date night!

Love this place! It's cozy, great decor, a roaring fireplace in the back, fabulous window seats/booths in front, delicious food (including a chef's tasting menu) and amazing cocktails! Avoid the Sunday crowds after farmer's market and head a few blocks down here for brunch - you won't be sorry. My new favorite neighborhood spot!

I was trying to track down a Maillard smash burger and remembered they do a Tuesday pop up somewhere. That's how I found Heritage. I thought the menu looked broad enough to satisfy everyone so we went out for an early dinner. We arrived at a nice quiet time where the toddlers wouldn't seem as disruptive. Had the pasta with sausage (outstanding), pork belly, salmon, and steak. Everything tasted great. The staff were super friendly and happy to help us keep the kids entertained and accommodated, which was much appreciated. We ended with cookies and milk that hit the spot. I lived in this hood over a decade ago and wish it was there when I was looking for a great happy hour or a reliable spot to take friends. It looks like it is exactly that for the other folks there who seemed like regulars. Looking forward to another family dinner (or maybe sneaking over for happy hour on a slow work day)
